This year's conference is packed with expert speakers who will set out the political and economic framework you will be working within, provide insights on your customers’ key purchasing criteria, and offer inspiration and pointers for you on establishing your sustainability credentials. The event will close with a bang with presentations on the opportunities in nano-technology and an overview of innovation examples and opportunities for you.

Forecasts for the coming year

Noted TV commentator, Anand Menon, will be this year’s keynote presenter giving you an expert view of future trading arrangements with the EU. There will be party political insights from renowned lobbyist, John Arnold, and an economic forecast from Frances Haque, chief economist at Santander Bank.

Key purchasing criteria for lab clients

Stuart Wanfor from Astra Zeneca a leading member of the pharma industries’ ‘Laboratory Community of Practice’ will offer feedback on what they as clients want from their suppliers and Mark Fish, MD of Accenture’s Scientific Informatics business will explain what they are offering to their lab clients and why.

Sustainability – your competitive tool

Cutting through the post COP26 froth will be Alan Rance, manufacturer of lab enclosures and plastic moldings. Alan has already moved his company to net zero and has improved his bottom line as a result – he’ll be explaining how he did it. Martin Farley of UCL has been one of the moving forces in giving university laboratories a way of measuring their sustainability. The LEAF system is spreading rapidly, he will be explaining how it works and what it means for education and research lab suppliers.

Innovation – the essential for staying relevant

Keeping ahead of the competition is top of GAMBICA members’ concerns and the Government has recognised how important it is for UK PLC.
