GAMBICA held it’s bi-annual Economic forecast report webinar this week. With expert speakers from Oxford Economics and Primary Engineer, the event is a highlight in the member calendar.

The regular forecast is a 40 page report that gives a detailed analysis of the macroeconomic situation and drills down into sectors and regions of interest to members. This was brought to life at the webinar by Andrew Goodwin and Jeremy Leonard from Oxford Economics, who pulled out the key economic drivers and described how they are likely to impact the forecast.

Members heard about current key influences of the economy such as the central banks reactions to inflation and interest rates, geo-political conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, the US Presidential election outcome and the Chinese economy. The webinar also addressed other influencing factors such as global stock levels, risk of recession and UK fiscal policy post-election.
