GAMBICA is the latest supporter of the Technician Commitment, giving our backing to this important university and research institution initiative.
The Commitment aims to ensure visibility, recognition, career development and sustainability for technicians working in higher education and research, across all disciplines.
Through GAMBICA’s work with their own University and Industry Council (GUIC), the trade association understands just how important technicians can be in our industries.
Steve Brambley, GAMBICA Chief Executive, said: “GAMBICA is actively working on improving the links between academia and industry, identifying areas of collaboration to boost the impact of STEM courses and research. The Technician Commitment is an important part of recognising and developing the role that science and engineering technicians play in that collaboration.”
Dr Simon Breeden, Technician Commitment Associate Lead, recently spoke at GAMBICA’s COLLABORATE! event. The aim of this event is to foster successful working relationships between academia and industry.
Simon said: “We are delighted to welcome GAMBICA as a supporter of the Technician Commitment. The technical workforce is key to engaging with industry through both developing and delivering new knowledge exchange initiatives that actively encourage collaboration and applying cutting edge skills and expertise to real world problems. The shared aims and values of our two organisations were clear at the recent GAMBICA event, where we shared a real sense of alignment encouraging us to COLLABORATE!”
